I met my wife in Bodenheim, Germany (her hometown) at a club called Antoine's Discotadl. It only too

k a few weeks for me to realize that I love this woman. I would stay at her house

on the weekends until about 7 months later when I moved in. Not long after I proposed to Isabel Schehlman at a club called the A61. I ask the DJ to allow me to use the microphone and I proposed to her 10 minutes before the stroke of midnight on Dec. 31st. She said yes with a smile that I'll never forget. I got on one knee and put the ring on her finger. Three months later we were getting married in her hometown, Bodenheim. She looked stunning. I was amazed but as always I didn't express that to her. Nevertheless I was swept off my feet by her beauty. I was very nervous during the wedding not because I was scared of what was to come, but because I w

as marrying the most beautiful woman in the world in my eyes. This can be intimidating to any man. Another 3 months went by and it was time for us to go to America. This was a very exhausting move. Everything seemed like it was working against us. We were so stressed financially and physically. We were able to make it through that stress though. We purchased a vehicle and found a nice home to live in. Soon after the move I reported to my new duty station in Fort Hood, Tx. We both hated the environment around Fort Hood, but we were able to cope. We would go on several road trips to Houston and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Not long after I got to Fort Hood I recieved Orders directing me to deploy with this unit to Iraq. Upon recieving my orders Isabel told me that she wished to stay in Germany during the duration of my deployment. That was her decision so she went. We had a hard time finding a descent home for our pets, but at the last minute we were able to. I still wish today that we would've been able to spend more time together before this deployment, but my unit was to busy keeping us at the motorpool. Even when we were finished with packing they kept us there to wait for the end of the day. This frustrated me so much.
